Residential Construction
What is Involved in Residential Construction?
Residential construction is a multi-phase process that is typically shepherded by a general contractor.

In a fully-custom project, the selection of the site is done by the customer, who either already owns the land or buys it as part of the construction financing package. Therefore, the first stage typically revolves around getting that land ready for building.

Then, a foundation must be put in. It can include a basement, or simply be a concrete slab that is attached to the ground with deep posts. After this, the frame of the house is built, and elements like wiring, plumbing, and ductwork are installed.

Finally, the finishing elements are added. Interior walls, exterior finish and coating, and interior elements like counters are put in. At the very end of the residential construction project, some landscaping elements may be done, as well.
